Welcome to my new blog (the sequel to fetchyourslippers), a place for me to continue sharing life’s lessons, but also to share my fictional writing, in the hopes that there are actually people out there who might enjoy it!
So who am I, you ask?
Well, my name is Tony Mitchell, and it’s said I started life as a baby boy, somewhere deep in the heart of Liverpool, way back in the 1980s.
During those dark days, when Thatcher ruled with an iron fist, it was, at least, a golden age for the arts of entertainment. I remember my first delve into the musical world was the album Bad by Michael Jackson (definitely not Push by Bros), but it was from the world of cinema that I drew my greatest influence.
During those formative years, I idolised men like the famed archaeologist, Indiana Jones, proud soldiers like Corporal Dwayne Hicks of the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and even savage barbarians like Conan the Cimmerian (yes, my parents have a lot to answer for).
Despite my best efforts, I’m actually nothing like those men, neither in physical prowess nor mental capacity, yet they helped to forge within me an understanding of what it is to be a hero; what it means to fight the good fight.
These days I get my hero fix from reading Fantasy novels, like the works of David Gemmell, George RR Martin, and Joe Ambercrombie. But I love to write too, to create my own stories, and I’ve decided it’s time to start sharing those stories with the outside world.
So if you enjoy Fantasy, or even just a tongue-in-cheek look at life in general, please stick around and have a read.
Welcome to the Cave.
